Transparent Screens

The transparent screens are freestanding sculptures, oil with Magna medium applied on glass or Plexiglas. There is a sense of unlimited space in the flow of translucent color which ranges from blues through pink and grey to the clear, unpainted support.

When you focus on the screen, you are free to wander visually in space, whereas looking through the screen encloses you in the room. They are picture windows opening to an expansive sky, and they are barriers standing in the middle of the floor. Thus the object that suggests expansion, bars expansion. Open and closed, near and far, switch places.
